U won't get Vesalainen for Strome, imo. not with copp

I'd opt to keep Strome, since Colliton finally decided to play him at center again. In regards to the Saad trade, I'd say throw in a decent roster player from NYR or a 2nd round pick, but I don't think NYR would be too thrilled with that proposition.

Additionally, the Hawks aren't paying more then $4M for Kubalik and likely in the $3's with bonuses. He's played 1 season, his assists don't come close to matching up with his goals and that means he's more one dimensional as a player, and he does not have arbitration rights so Hawks have the power in negotiating with him. Expect the Hawks to not overpay and Kubalik only agreeing to a short term deal.

If I'm the Hawks, I wouldn't take this package. We can do better if the intent is to trade Strome. Not because of value but because both players are a big downgrade from Strome and Hawks don't need more bottom 6 players.

Don't know enough about Samuelsson but the Hawks have a logjam of defensive prospects so unless he's a bonafide top liner prospect (pretty positive he is not) then the Hawks have little need for him. Mittelstadt and a 1st rounder would be interesting or alternatively, (2) 2nd rounders.

Mitts and 2 seconds sounds good, I think that it's a good trade for both teams, Sabres get an immediate upgrade at C and Mitts gives you guys a good prospect who needs a little bit of experience
