With Lehner turning 29 this summer, I think he should make a long-term contract with a team if he becomes UFA, if he wants to secure a great income.

This deal would see him end up as UFA at 33, making getting a good contract nigh impossible.

I'd expect to see a 6-7 year deal for $7,5-8M. Considering what kind of contracts elite goalies have gotten as of late, even that would be a cheap deal.

I think GM's are *beginning* to wise up to long term goalie contracts at high cap hits and combined with the fact that Lehner doesn't have the illustrious history as the other goalies getting those deals I don't think he gets more than 4-5 years. I think 8aav is the absolute max but I'd wager OP is close here. Say 5@6.5 ish is around what I'd bet on.

Don't want Ho-Sang in the top 6. I would rather not pay a 3rd pairing guy 4.5 million and use that money for a top 6 player. Labanc also isn't a top line player. You can trade Sörensen to save a little bit more money.

I don’t get why we wouldn’t want ho sang. He’s fast, he cheap. And he’s got a HUGE chip on his shoulder. Reminds me of timo last year. His potential is top 6/middle 6 why not see what he has. Gudas isn’t a “3rd pairing d-man”. Just he’d be with Vlasic in a defense shutdown pairing. Bring him gives our defense a shutdown right d-man which also frees up ek65 and lets him have more offensive zone time which is where he is best.

His potential may be a top 6/middle 6 guy but he isn't one yet. We shouldn't too much more money on our defense given we have 3 huge contracts already.
