This is actually a reported on thing Fox refuses to play for anyone other the NYR basically he refused to sign ELCs with Calgary and Carolina to be able to go to the NYR. So no way he's going to be traded.

Not that I disagree. Fox will quit playing hockey if he gets traded?? I understand he could pick his after he became an ufa, much like Wall can do in July, but he's just going to pull a 'Berglund' and never play again???

Its more along the lines of the puljujavi thing. When his current RFA ends he just wont resign. Also if traded i would expect he would only really give a half assed effort

Well, now he’s signed. If the rangers think they have a good deal for him, they’ll move him, and there’s nothing fox can do about it. When the contracts are all similar (entry level deals) a player can be a lot more picky about the team. In the future, he’ll sign with whoever gives him the biggest deal, like 99% of NHL players.

Yeah I get where you're coming from. BUT even though Fox is a great player why give yourself that headache? There are other young D who could develop into top4 who are more worth pursuing than a guy who has those kind of question marks around him. I'd go after Deangelo from NYR if we go that route. Package maybe Dermott, a high draft pick 1st or 2nd and a prospect for Deangelo.
