You are probably right about the in division factor. It's a good trade IMO. Wild are getting the better end of it i think but it addresses needs on both sides. I think Chicago would be happier taking Donato back instead of Galchenyuk, but maybe you want the expiring contract.
I wonder if Bowman and Guerin would be willing to deal with each other since neither team is real good right now?

He has played some games at RW this year but not a natural position.

He was playing 2C last year at a point-per-game pace. With Dach proving so much this year, Carpenter & Kampf signed, and Barratt/Kurashev on the way, Strome's surplus at this point.

Strome and Rakell are probably the closest to a potential 1C on the current market. Anyone better and you'd have to overpay big time.

Selfishly I’d like to keep Toews-Strome-Dach and have Carpy/Kampf on 4C and move Kurashev to LW. Can never have too many centers.

This is a good question. He's a #2C. With that said there are varying #1Cs and #2Cs. McDavid/Crosby is a very different #1C than Getz. Strome isn't going to be a Malkin #2C, but other #2Cs currently playing as #2Cs (we can debate whether or not they SHOULD be #2Cs, but right now they ARE playing the #2C) in the league are Mark Jankowksi, Sam Steel, Curtis Lazar, Jason Dickenson, Luke Kunin...etc.... He's better than all those guys by a pretty wide margin. He's is a .8ppg 2-way center. He's 22 so he still has more upside available and is an RFA. I don't envision him being a #1C unless there's an even higher amount of untapped potential there that I'm not currently seeing, but the #2C position is pretty darn valuable anyway. Not sure that helps, but just my thoughts.

I think we are getting smoked on these trades. I like the idea of keeping Strome unless an offer we can't refuse turns up.
