So start the Hall Era by trading away his best friend from Junior and taking on a crap ton of cap for seriously declining players? This would lead straight to the end of the Hall era in the form of a trade request haha

I agree with you I think the LAST thing Shero would do is trade Adam Henrique (Hall's junior linemate in Windsor) as they won back to back Memorial Cups in '09-'10 and were considered the most dangerous and talented tandem in all of junior hockey. Also by the '18-'19 season Zajac will be a bottom 6 centerman and if Pavel Zacha's NHL career has him playing at C instead of LW he will become the 1C by as soon as 2-3 years from now.

GM Shero has been a great GM, but he likes making big trades (if the team isn't doing well, traded Crosby roommate/best friend Colby Armstrong, Jordan Staal and popular players to get the player he wants or needs) I am not sure it it will this season or down the line, but 2019 (also LA is going to be against or over the cap even if they raise the team salary cap) they have the most chance to enhance their roster, (good chance might not be my players but stranger things have happened) and they have been known to recruit/target and plan for veteran players rather than develop rookies, same thing happen in Nashville/PGH and 2.5-3 years down the road might happen in NJ if the salary cap doesn't increase, I know it's a longshot and I understand your points, but Shero (traded for Hossa/Iginla/Kovalev/Guerin/Roberts/Gill) reverse (Staal trade) 2019 will be a great year to be a Devils fan. Hope this season is one to remember, thanks for writing. GO DEVILS

Man that trade is god awful. Henrique alone scored more than both those guys and cost less than both combined minus the retained salary........ Where's the logic in this? Shereo made big trades before so he's bound to go full ****** and make a terrible one like you mentioned?

I agree though, the Hall trade put this team up a notch and they are starting to come together nicely. They need 2 more good Dmen before competing for a cup though.

How did we get Derrick Pouliot from Pitt?
I like the idea but what did I give up for him?
