Gallagher is a 2nd liner. He’s not an all star. He’s a decent guy
Bouchard is a top prospect in EDM. Not the best, but he’s probably behind broberg in terms of that

I like that you chose Gallagher. His grit would benefit the Oilers. However moving Bouchard is insanely. Kill this deal.

Gallagher is a 2nd liner? How many 2nd liners are averaging 30 goals per season over the past 3 years? He is also under contract for two playoff runs at $3.75M. He is also from Edmonton so there is a chance they could resign him longterm.

I think this trade is closer than you think.
(I checked your favourite teams because rival fanbases (Leafs) tend to undervalue your players. That's what I think you are doing with Gallagher. There are concerns with trading for Gallagher [injury history/term of current contract], don't think any of them are his skill level [2nd liner]).

I am open to the idea. But yeah, a lot of other Montreal fans, Gallagher is a non starter.

It all comes down to one thing. Are the Habs rebuilding or are the retooling. If they are retooling, Gallagher is a non starter. If they are rebuilding, I'd do this.

I wouldn't do this from Edmonton's side. I really like Gallagher but he'll be 28 soon, has just 1 year left on his deal (UFA) and then will get PAID, while 20-year-old Bouchard has THREE YEARS left on his deal at <$900k, 1st pairing upside and will be an RFA when his deal runs out.

Edmonton would be better of keeping Bouchard and then signing a winger in free agency - maybe even Gallagher himself if he decides to test the waters in 2021.
