Edmonton isn't going to trade 2/3rds of their RHD next year. They've been trying for years to correct the imbalance between left and right and they're finally (almost) there. Bouchard is a no go, off limits.

I find it strange you traded the best even strength goal scorer of the last four years--who also happens to only be 22--for two 1st round picks, a middle-six center, and a 34-year old middle-pairing defenseman.

Ya on the surface I understand... Believe me! However, there are a few things that contribute to my idea.
# 1 I feel his contract length is telling that he is leaving Toronto.
# 2 Sometimes it appears as if he plays without heart or drive
# 3 Team Cap Balance can not have 3 ~ 11 million dollar forwards... and it wouldn't look good to trade Tavares a home town boy who came home!
# 4 Off ice drama gets blown-up by TO media, and he has had some in his short time which he tried to hide.
