You are not going to get the Fowrad help needed by trading two mediocre dmen. It would also be valuable to get Ristos contracts off the books to help free up space to pay Dahlin, Joker & Montour.

2nd line center and top 6 RW are the biggest team needs.

Tf we have $35M in cap space this offseason.

And with that $35 million you have to pay the 3 players I mentioned as well as Reinhart and free agents to round out the team.

RD is an organizational strength and it should be used to better the weakest area (C/RW)

Classic BUF fan response. Risto is a valuable asset at an organizational surplus. It makes so much sense to move him. I’d even talk about moving him for futures that they could use as ammo in the offseason

In the offseason I would have agreed with you that futures would be a great return, but I think he has shown his true value this season under a coach who uses him properly. He is not a top 2, but can still get you the same production as past seasons even as the 3 or 4 on a team. Because of this, I think he can get a bigger return than just futures.

Risto has been better, but he has not been "awesome" I would move him for forward help before he regresses from pretty good to bad again.

2nd line and he has 20 points in 50 games? Jesus that is just not going to get it done. If WPG isn’t willing to move their first, there’s not much business to be had here.

First rounders are going to be harder to come by for all teams this year and next . I can't see teams blowing a 1st to get a player like Risto and then lose a better player than they would have otherwise to Seattle. The resulting trade would become Roslovic, Niku and a 1st for Risto (assuming Morrissey and Pionk are the other two Dmen protected). Too rich. Jets can draft and develop guys on their own that could blossom into a career +/- of -141.
