OHHHHH thats a close trade, not sure not sure . Great prospect for the Oilers.............Need help from other Oilers fans for this one. Givng up a future winger for 1.5 years is tough.

I would pass. At least until I see a bit more of Lavioe's potential.

I think the value is fair, I just don't see Holland doing it. First I'm positive he'll use the Puljujarvi trade chip before the Lavoie one, second he's building for the future and trading for a 29-year-old isn't that.

JP + pick for a young player under team control is something he'd do - say Josh Anderson or Ondrej Kase, for instance. Maybe Drouin also. I could see him including one of Jones, Lagesson or Persson in such a deal too.

If I’m the oilers I think I would jump on that. Montreal would have to take Gagner to make it work though. Think that evens out the trade as well.

there isnt any rigging - its the best lottery system out there, some teams are lucky some are not. Oilers are lucky, devils are Unlucky? lucky? idk, colorado is lucky, they win mackinnon, lose patrick hughes for makar byram?

Its luck of the draw as it should be, no place for tanking the constant parity is what makes the nhl great

It’s a trade off. Roll of the dice with a prospect. But by the time he is an impact player... 2-4 years from now, does that help Edmonton as much as Tatar will over the next 2+ years? 2 playoff appearances would be nice and I think Tatar puts you in there. The defence is on its way (nice coast to coast by Bouchard against the wild). I think the oilers are ready to quit wasting Mcdavid. This move paired with a good offseason could have them as legit contenders next year.

Totally agree, like we could possible get 5 years out of Tartar vs 15 years from Lavoie and we are wasting Connor as Habs wasted Price. That is why I think I do it too., can skate and shoot. I think I take this trade.

Not as rigged as Crosby and Malkin.
