ANA-BOS

Créé par: mytduxfan
Équipe: 2019-20 Ducks d'Anaheim
Date de création initiale: 8 janv. 2020
Publié: 8 janv. 2020
Mode - plafond salarial: Basique
Description
BOS gets a 1st/2nd line goal scorer on a very cheap deal to bolster their line-up for a deep playoff run, the addition of Manson somewhat covering the loss of Carlo, + dumps a bad contract to free up space to re-sign Debrusk and Krug. This helps BOS solidify their line-up until 2022. ANA a gets younger and better RD to solidify their top pairing beyond the retool + young assets and picks.

BOS line-up after trade:

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Rakell - Krejci - Debrusk
Heinen - Coyle - Bjork
Kuraly - Lindholm - Ritchie

Chara - McAvoy
Krug - Manson
Moore - Grzelcyk

Rask - Halak

Just waiting for that one BOS fan saying something like "Beecher is off limits" or something to that effect.

Fine. I am not tied to him, but we'd need a solid prospect coming back as a replacement to Rakell.

Ducks could do better than Carlo in a Rakell trade. Carlo is actually significantly worse than Manson in even strength Corsi this year and throughout his career. He’s younger than Manson but I don’t see the potential to be any better than him.

Idk enough about Beecher but looking at his numbers it looks like he struggled at the WJC and so far at Michigan.

Personally I just think there’s a better D to be had if Rakell is being moved.

So you want to trade a top 6 F and a top pairing D, both entering their prime in the next couple of seasons, for a top 4 D, a cap dump, a late 1st, and a B prospect? No chance Anaheim takes this.

Fair. I think Manson has been poor this year and he wasn't that great last season. Maybe I am undervaluing him and overvaluing Carlo. I kind of view them as equivalent players, but believe that Carlo has more to bring given his age. It was just a thought. I have concerns about our back-end and don't really see a standout option via the draft. Moreover, I think we need a franchise forward or at least another potentially elite 1C option.

Thanks for the feedback though. Always appreciated!

Well, Manson isn't a top pairing D. He's a top 4 that has good chemistry with Lindholm, who is a legit top pairing D-man. Manson is 28 years old, so he's already in his prime years, not just entering, and he's not exactly been that great recently. He's certainly not the Manson from a couple seasons ago. Rakell is a quality player and worth a tonne, especially given his sweetheart contract. Maybe the value is off because I am overvaluing Carlo. It's just hard to find good quality D-men and he ticks a lot of boxes i.e. young, big, good mobility, etc.

Why trade this man he’s on a great contract and he’s really your only valuable offensive piece

Lol... if anything I've overvalued Carlo here. There is a big difference between overvaluing an opposing team’s player and criminally undervaluing them to the point that you piss of the fan base. I’d expect the same reaction if I made a thread trading Saad out of CHI for a late 2nd? Any half intelligent hockey fan knows that wouldn’t go down well. Saad = Silf.

But the fact you traded rakell for basically a bust and a first is kind of stupid especially since you think they’re giving up their best prospect

How does this counter my argument? You came in with a criminally low valuation of a player (Silfverberg) on a team you don’t support. I didn’t do that here. This isn’t a like-for-like scenario. In fact, it’s kind of pathetic that you are so butt-hurt that you’re rehashing up the only recent thread I made to try (and failing miserably) to prove a point.

The fact you think an 18 year old and 2019 draftee in Beecher is “basically a bust” only shows what little hockey knowledge you have. Get over it kid!

Cool story bro. No one cares. Now go and tell BOS fans that Carlo is a bust.... and try not to get so butt-hurt this time when they tell you don’t know what you’re talking about.
