You want Couture and Vlasic? It starts with Gallagher and Primeau.

You say that as though Vlasic has any value. He does not.

I'm sorry but if you think Vlasic has any value to any team then I have property on the moon to sell you.

Hes a minus-4 playing with the human turnover machine in big minutes on a team with one of the worst goal differentials in the league. He plays on the #1 PK unit (which is the best in the league)

So yeah, he has zero value. It’s like saying karl Alzner has value, ill informed and absurd. See ya.

I know, saying Vlasic has value is like saying Alzner has value.

Face it, he is 32 with a contract that is to long and to expensive for any team to take on while giving assets back. Even worst is that it's real money the entire contract, wont even be able to sell him off when he is 35-38 to a team that is just trying to hit the cap floor while not paying a big salary.

I get that he is still a good shut down D but he will be over paid by about 3 million for the next 2 years and after that when he is in the press box he will be a waste of cap space for any team. Look at Marleau, Toronto had to pay a 1st to get rid of 1 year at 6.25....that's Vlasics future.

I understand why people discredit Vlasic but Sharks fans who watch him every night know he is still a top shutdown Dman. Hes a great skater, reads plays exceptionally well and is an important part of the Sharks core. As a sharks fan there are two other contracts I am far more worried about (88and65)

It's not his play right now, it's the final 3 years of that contract that I worry about.

I agree with you on 88 and 65 though, if SJ misses playoffs I think they need to get good returns at the draft or off season for those 2 and start building again. With Couture, Kane, Hertle and Meir they could turn it around quicker then ppl think and still have those key players leading the next generation.

I have many times, he used to be really good. I am not sure he's ever been 7+ million good but he was good. Now I am not sure he's worth 3 million and that is dropping each year. Finally all those long term contracts to old guys in San Jose has caught up to them. Burns, Karlsson, Vlasic, etc San Jose should move anyone over the age of 25 and rebuild. They just aren't good enough anymore.

Pickles was once the best shutdown defender in the league and would play top pair on Team Canada. This isn't the same player anymore, unfortunately. His contract looks pretty terrible going forward so bundling it with a legit #1C in Couture is one of the ways Doug Wilson could rid himself of it.

If pickles were traded to the habs he is immediately the best defenseman they have. He’s one the best dmen in league history

I wouldn't disagree with that. Also I'm not a Habs fan but I get your point.
