It could be sooo crippling for a team to have an overpaid player. The risk is too important and you propose 2 hugely overpaid players

Remember that Romanov has good chances to come to MTL next year. MTL doesnt need LD unlike all the AGM suggests.

Turris at center could fill a role for a year or two, but Poehling KK Suzuki are centers. Add Danault and Domi, what would MTL do with him for the next 3 years at 6m?

The roster becomes interesting right now!!! Strong D, 2 ways Centers and speed on the wings.!!! The center position is no longer the issue with Danault, Turris, Suzuki, KK, Poehling permeating these younger center time to develop. Defensively we have shot down core able to generate scoring chances and with price in the net it makes it interesting don’t you think!!!
For our upcoming defensive players like Romanov they need time to develop and to becomes NHL ready in a couple of years.
The cap space is not an issue for the Habs in the short or long term.

Vlasic 7 million - Alzner 4.625$m= 2,375$m for three seasons.
Turris 6 million - Thompson 1$m, Weise 2,35$M, Peca 1,3$M= 1,350$Mfor this season.
Total For this season 3,725$
Total For the next two seasons it's 8,375$
Total for the following two season 13 million
Total in the last two season is Vlasic 7 million.
Don’t see this being much of cap issue specially when you are in reset mode.

Wont be in reset mode for 5 more years. Having 13 million between two guys who can barely play in the league now will be a bigger issue when you're paying them to play on your AHL team

The young players are in to there entry level contracts, then a transition contract before They brake the bank. They don’t become a cap issue until 5 years from know. Keep in mind that we will free more cap space this up coming season Mason,Kinkaid, Cousin, Weal, 5,5$m
In less then two years from know, there will be decision taken with Tatar 4,8$m and Petry 5,5$m in my opinion they will be traded in 2021 to permit the upcoming prospects to play. Keeping leaders such as Danault, Gallagher, Webber, Vlasic and Price is alright all the way for me.

Wow! I'm impressed -- that rare trifecta, trades that are bad for all three teams!

San Jose doesn't want and can't use Alzner, who would only stay in the AHL, and wouldn't dream of exchanging Vlasic (even with his massive cap hit) for Kulak at this point in their careers.

Nashville doesn't want and can't use Wiese, who would only stay in the AHL, and wouldn't give you either Turris or the second for that package or Thompson by himself, let alone give you both.

Montreal doesn't need Vlasic when it can surely find some short-term LD help at a much cheaper price (both in acquisition and ongoing costs), and Turris isn't that much of even a temporary assist when you have Danault and Domi right now and would be even more extraneous next season when KK, Poehling and Suzuki should be ready for prime playing time.
