We aren't taking a 2021 pick, and the return isn't that good. We'll take Girard though.

You'll be lucky to get that, new jersey isn't coming from a position of power with the hall situation. He's leaving your team at the end of the season. You'll end up taking any deal before you let him walk for nothing.

Also i don't see us moving on from zads this season. His presence is known around the league right now that you gotta keep your head up in the neutral zone

Colorado will be a beast in the playoffs, they will likely deal for Hall, and that's about all you'll get except it won't be a roster LD it'll be 1 of their many NHL ready LDs in the minors

I agree and I'd love to keep Z, I just think given the choice between a package with Z or a package with Timmins or Newhook the avs would want to keep the 2 latter. Plus Z is rya at the end of the year, I'd rather if they're gonna move on that he ends up out East rather than West

hahah Girard, are you drunk.

You aren't getting a 21 year really good Top 4 Dman who is singed and a nice contract for the next 7 years for Taylor Hall.
You are delusional if you think you can get that

Yeah i don't see us giving away any of those guys either. I don't know if hall is a great fit for us. Right now we have no issue scoring, plus if we bring him in that means burky or donny move to 3rd so you can pretty much say goodbye to the production they're generating this year. Plus after macks recent statement about his contract and next contract why would we want a guy that doesn't want to take a team friendly deal to win.

I think that comment was kind of directed at Hall / Sakic like hey, I want to win now so get in line. We're all just projecting Hall is gonna want big money but the dude has won NOTHING in his career, maybe he comes cheaper.
I agree moving probably Donskoi away from MacK will obviously hurt his production but that depth is what wins championships, and Hall usually misses 7-10 games a year, you can just bump him right back up.
I personally think Colorado really has a shot at the cup this year, or at least as good as anyone else, Hall could be a massive piece in getting past St. Louis. And it would be horrible if Hall ended up in St. Louis, so I'd just go for it.

Well i think the thing is Mack at 10mil is better than hall at 10mil. He's still going to get paid but it won't be mcdavid money like he will deserve in 4 years.

Obviously moving anyone away from mack will hurt their produciton but its not even about that, because im sure hall would outscore either of them on top line. But it's about donny and burky playing the best they ever have in their careers and us going we signed you to do exactly what you're doing but we're going to replace you because you're not good enough. then shift them down the lineup and then expect them to play like they're playing now with less minutes and less confidence then when hall gets injured expect them to move back up and be at the top of their game. Won't happen.

Even if st louis picks him up i think we're still fine. We pick up a role player that can grind down their defense for third line and we will beat stlouis even with hall. we have no problem scoring goals right now, the hard thing to do will be defending against the stronger teams in playoffs and hall doesn't do that.

Plus the major thing people are overlooking is this isn't our only shot to win the cup. Our window is literally just opening, we got a bunch of prospects coming up and lots of cap room, no point in doing a major roster change and giving up assets or prospects to try to score 6 goals a game instead of 5.

Can't get talent if you won't give anything up. You need to stop thinking you can give away depth pieces and a pick that'll go 25th for an all star. But no, I'm the drunk one.

then have fun letting him walk for nothing, Devils do not have any advantages or leverage here
I didn't say depth pieces, 1st Timmins and Kaut would be my package to give up, if devils don't like it then hit the bricks.

The key is to win the cup for the Avs, you don't get better taking away Girard from your D core and trying to find a spot to fit in Hall
