Zadina and Hirose were both sent down to the A today, leaving Detroit with only 11 fowards on the roster. With Detroit not playing until Saturday night, I believe this is merely a case of sending Zadina and Hirose down to play with GR while the Wings get a break, and calling them back up to play Saturday. Grand Rapids plays this Wednesday and Friday, both home games, so it will be easy to recall them and they won't be jetlagged or anything like that. I'm not sure about Hirose, but I am fairly confident Zadina will get recalled before our next game. Hirose has been a healthy scratch the past few games, so maybe we call someone up like Svechnikov, or someone to just play as the 13th forward. Another thing to note is Abdelkader is not coming back anytime soon, and we haven't heard anything about Mantha's injury or a possible timeline for him. He hasn't been practicing or skating or anything, so a return for him on Saturday is unlikely. Zadina currently has 2 points in 5 games, both of which coming in the last 2 games. Don't worry Wings fan, I don't think he'll be down for long.
