At the end of the day you are not the one deciding what makes a player good defensively enough to win the Selke or not, the PHWA are and they clearly are not just looking at one single factor like xGA for example, to base their conclusions.....
It is perfectly reasonable to say a player could be very good defensively but still would not win the Selke at the same time. The award is subject to personal opinion of a select group.
If you choose to disagree on how they base their opinion, that's your prerogative but its also not wrong to say ZAR will not win the Selke based on the standards of measuring a players defensive ability that are currently in use. (or at least on how we've seen it been awarded previously)
