Quoting: tryger
Intriguing but as much as the team stinks, Kopitar and Doughty are still the core that we build around. Turcotte and Vilardi are similar to Kopitar in many ways, I would definitely like them to come up under him if possible.
Turcotte is gonna need 2 years in the NHL minimum
great player but he needs time to build up his stamina as he's never played in any league with as much games played as the NHL.
Vlardi is almost there and injuries aside he could be ready for a full time middle 6 role in the NHL but he'll need time .
Sure Kopitar is like 32or 33 and moving him wont get as much as you'd want but moving him allows
those in your system like Anderson Dolan and Rasmus Kupari who will need to find out where they fit in with Vlardi,Turcotte and Thomas
Kopitar for MTL is a Centermen with 20 minutes a night on average with 54% win rate in the faceoff circle and 15 points in 16 games . He'd by proxy become MTL's top Center and Elevate the Domi-Drouin line to a true Top Line in the NHL. If Kopitar can play at this same consistency here it becomes an instant win for MTL but giving up Poehling makes no sense for MTL although moving out Suzuki who's played better and has more value today for LAK then Poehling who's struggled to jump to the NHL. (LAK will want the better player not the better center necessarily but MTL needs Poehling)
Poehling -Caufield's chemistry made them untouchable .
