Botts will never trade Risto for this package, he is stubborn, and Winnipeg’s first round doesn’t give us anything, we need NHL players, not picks or prospects.

Sorry bud. Peg needs a defender that’s is more defensively stout than Risto. Yeah, he puts up points and has some grit to his game but not he is not what we are looking for.

I will admit I haven’t watched him this year. Living in Ontario I have watched him tons the last few years and didn’t like what I saw. So what’s changed? Different partners or systems?? Coaching?

That said, we are more than 1 Risto from being a contender anyways. Winnipeg can’t take on salary until the Buff situation is figured out. This is a retool year and would like to see it play out as such. We have given up way too many picks and prospects the last few years and we need to restock the cupboards.

You better watch Risto for a few games .before making an disparaging remarks about him . I was not his biggest fan till this year but he has changed my mind.

I wouldn’t call them disparaging when he’s had the history of bad defensive play that he has had. Let’s face it, he was a train wreck before this year. I haven’t had a chance to watch Buffalo this year and really expected much of the same.

Edit: and in all reality let’s see if he can keep it up for the season and beyond. Even Ben Chiarot had a sequence of good games!
