Taking on Cary Price and his NMC and bloated contract means Nashville exposes Saros in the expansion draft which is a no from me.

in a longer summary of why:
The issue here is skill wise Rinne for Price is roughly a wash but that contract on Price is painful in comparison. Saros is a legit replacement level goalie for Rinne when he starts to decline. The only advantage Nashville has here is loosing Turris contract but that doesnt justify downgrading in defense and spending more on a long term goalie that will give the same results. Not to mention the picks.

Price is 3X better than Saros
Nashville get an Elite goalie for years to come
They downgrade their defense a little bit, but improved their goaltending for 5-6 years.
They get rid of Turris
They get a middle six LW

In the other end, MTL gets an old goalie in Rinne but who’s still very solid. They get a top2 dman in Ehkolm, an upgrade on Mete. They get capdump Turris, but received picks to balance it all

In what universe is Price a better goalie than Rinne right now? And Turris is outplaying Lehkonen by every metric aside from hits. Watch some games.

Oh yeah because we don’t consider Turris at 6M for 5 years ? Turris is a cap dump, both are middle six player but Lehkonen is 24 yo with a ok contract, Turris middle six center with a bad contract

Turris is playing like a $6M player again, now that he's healthy. Price is the only cap dump in this proposal. Lehkonen is fine, but he'd be redundant on Nashville. Jarnkrok and Sissons are better, more versatile, and locked up for longer. I'd rather see Nashville give some of their prospects a shot, than tie up $2.4M in cap space on Lehkonen.
