Every MTL fans will tell you this is unfair and they are right... Klefbom is not needed and isn't great enough to become needed (just like Nurse would be)... Lehkonen is too important right now and Kulak is probably our 4th best dmen (really underrated). Puljujarvi isn't great at all in the NHL and I don't think it will change and Granlund is another 3-4 line C, we have too much of them btw. So, MTL will simply keep Drouin (who had 50pts in 50 games at the start of the season) instead of trading him for such a bad package...

In terms of speed and defense? Yes. All the way to the AHL.

In terms of points he can get per year, on a good 2nd line, he's a dozen ahead of Chiasson. Plus, Chiasson, Khaira, and Lehkonen together would be a really solid checking line to shut down the opponent's best guys, and let the top lines try to focus on scoring points. Gagner is really, really bad at that.

If you're gonna overvalue Kulak, swap him out for Alzner at 50%.

Interesting, I kind of like it. Unfortunately Edmonton can't afford to take on all that salary, so you'd have to have Gagner in the deal instead of Granlund. I'm not sure if that's enough still as Holland wants at least $1.5M in space for Smith's bonuses.

Alzner's like Kulak, but a bunch older, a little tougher, a little slower, 750k more expensive and... oh. That puts the above team over the cap or down to 21 guys.

Alzner doesn't play in the NHL though, he'll be nothing but a drag on the cap for another 3 years. No way is Holland taking that... besides, Edmonton doesn't even have room for him in the AHL, they're absolutely stacked with D prospects.
