Description
Simon, Guds, Johnson to be traded...Clearing more than 8 million in cap space. The only one I'd consider keeping is Guds because he could be a 6th D man.

BTW, Simon is 150 times better than ZAR... and I was a big ZAR fan until he came back after injury at end of last yr and he has been playing like the worst hockey player ive ever seen since then... its like he forgot how to hockey, lol

You need to do something about those three contracts not just for this year but for next. (Galchenyuk, Murray, Kahun, Pettersson, Riikola.) Buying out Johnson's contract next year gives you a maximum savings of only $1.25 million because you have to replace him with somebody.

This team is keeping Guddy on the team, he brings too much to it.

Marino will be replacing Schultz next year. He will be in WBS. He will get his chance next year. That is already done. The only way he plays this year is if Schultz is a TDL move because the team didn't make the playoffs.

ZAR makes things happen. It may not always be pretty but when he plays our team does VERY well. Why I like him over Simon is because Simon doesn't bring anything special and I think we need more special producing players. Hockey today has loads of skill BUT we still need those SKILLED players to actually make things happen. Simon to me is like a good basic Vanilla Ice cream cone.

Go back and watch ZAR at end of season and in playoffs, he was horrible ... there is a reason he has been playing in every preseason game, its bc they are hoping he does something so we can trade him and get some value out of him... and I was a big ZAR fan until what i saw last year.
Simon is a superior hockey player to ZAR in every aspect except for that once every 25 games when ZAR is healthy and he throws a hit.
Analytics say Simon is a very good player, Sidney Crosby says Simon is in the Top 3 of most skilled guys on the team, the coaches all say what a smart player he is.... so im prob going to go with them and say he is a way better player than I.R.ZAR

Im sure GMJR will make his usual 95 trades and we will be fine, lol.... Im not worried at all about next year, we always sign the important guys before they reach RFA or UFA. Plus once Chucky plays w/ Goat87 & Geno, Im sure he will want to stay

I also think that Guddy will not be traded, he did great last yr here. But after this season he mite have to get moved bc of cap reasons only & especially if we re-sign Schultzy.
* welcome to the John Marino Bandwagon, lol... I started after the 1st prospect gm saying how good he looked, then after 2nd prospect game I started saying Marino is a NHL D-man & everyone lol at me... Now look at him?? I still think he starts in WBS but wow that kid has it all, WTF did EDM not see??

Schultz is gone. It's just a matter of how he leaves. If this team is out, he brings big assets back. If they are in, he leaves as a self rental.

My guess is we trade him. It's the right move.
