as a jets fan, as much as I like vesalainen, i think the jets would jump on this trade. they are definitely in need of a replacement RHD with the loss of trouba, myers, and now possibly byfuglien. They are deep in terms of offensive and defensive prospect depth and will have to trade some pieces to stabalize their core and keep their "contender" window open

my conjecture is, this would be a good start for the jets, and if an opportunity presented itself, a 2C should be the next target

I agree Winnipeg's biggest priority is defense.

Flames might try to send a lower pick if Hamonic re-ups with the Jets given what they already had to give up to get him, but Vesalainen could be that additional top 6 winger the team needs to take the next step. I think the Flames would try to slot him on the top line and give them minimal defensive responsibilities. I like this trade idea!
