Carolina don't have the cap space, and McKeown is more valuable than Czarnik, Frolik has literally no value. Johnson doesn't waive and Tampa would rather hold him than flip him for a top 4 reject like TJ Brodie

Frolik had 16g in 65g and went 7-7-14 in 10 games at the WC. He is overpaid but he has trade value. Brodie is still a top 4 d man. They both decline, but not for your reasons.

Not enough for TyJo, he will cost Jankowski as well and use taking back 1 of Domingue/Rutta/L. Schenn. (Flames will never retain, it just doesn't happen)

Brodie is the most consistent ppg player in the NHL over the last 3 years (only 1 of those years was with Gio). and is in all ways a top 4 defenseman with great puck movement. He would pair well with Hedman (probably just as well as he did with Giordano).

Of course TyJo actually has to waive but Calgary is one of the more likely places he would be willing to waive to. He has connections there, is closer to home and they are a competing team. If Cirelli makes the jump to 2C this year (which he might in training camp if Point doesn't sign sooner then later) then Johnson will likely be pushed back to 3C. If Im Tampa that then that is far from ideal I would rather upgrade another position, RD is still mediocre and really depends on how well Serg does on the off side.
