Description

This is super unlikely and purely for fun/just to see how exactly it could happen. Laine is only 21 and already has 100+ goals in his NHL career so it's not gonna take just a couple of middle 6 wingers and B prospects like everyone thinks. Labanc is a top 6 player with potential for even higher than that, and Dillon is a legit top 4 defenseman. Both of them have expiring contracts but the Jets could sign them both for the amount they would pay Laine. Plus they're both on super cheap contracts right now, and allow WPG the space to go after a rental at the deadline. Chmelevski is a top 3 prospect on the Sharks and has top 6 potential, and Roy, although his stock has fallen since he was drafted, could be a top 6, or as high as a top 4 defenseman. Then add in a 1st and a 2nd. As a Sharks fan the price looks super steep, but Laine is a guy that can put up 35+ goals for the next decade, and brings back the top goal scorer we lost when Pavs left.

Lol I didn't even think about that. Like I said though this is super unrealistic and wouldn't happen in real life, that's just probably the value it would take to get him.

I think SJ still needs to add to be honest but I really wanted to mention how angry Lebanc would likely be. If Laine was paired with Thornton I think he gets 70 goals this year lol

Labanc is younger, on a better contract, and already outproduced Drouin last year while playing on the 3rd line. That coupled with the top 4 D and picks/prospects package makes it a much better deal than "Drouin + a pick"

lmao this is def going to be the most underrated comment of the offseason. lol ****ing siberia but for real winnipeg is a solid team he has the same chance in the peg as sj over the next few years.
