Well I just saw a Laine for Yamamoto + Broberg
And Laine for Yamamoto + Russel, a 2nd and a 3rd.
I get why WIN wouldn't accept it, but this one at least is a decent offer.
Look at it this way, Laine went 2nd over all is a decently strong draft year and even after having a bad year hes still at worse the 3rd best player in that draft, arguably still 2nd best.
Matthews, Laine/Tkachuk, Dubois, Debrincat, Keller, Sergachev/McAvoy, etc.
The offer for him should equal value of a number 2 draft pick in a decently strong year. You also have to factor in any team offering their 2020/2021 1st will get better with Laine and likely make the 1st at least in the 20's. Vastly diminishing its value.
Think how much it would cost your team to get Matthews, take out a 2nd and thats is probably what Laine will cost. Laine is one hell of a shooter and if he plays his whole career could very well get in the top 10 of all time goals scored. In his first 2 seasons he produced at a .52 goals per game (well above most of the top 10). His shot% also went down 6% last year which is a massive drop.
Basically if Montreal wants Laine it starts with Domi, Kotkaniemi, or Poeling then add from there (the add varies on who the main return piece is).
