Keep Mccarron as Coach Bouchard had him playing key minutes last year and when he got injured he was 3rd among forwards in points and 4th in minutes.
He just had Surgery and said it feels the best it has since before he seperated his should in 2014-15 .

i expect him to be a key player for Coach Bouchard again this year with Teasdale out (his Gallagher from Junior) he'll have to rely on big mac to battle infront of the net more .

Juulsen and Mete are both better off starting in Laval and thriving there hopefully as league leaders then being brought up around or after TDL depending on where we are in the standings. The upside about Reilly is that in MIN to get minutes he played RD.

Gardiner-Weber
Chariot-Petry
Kulak-Reilly
Folin

we add value to Kulak , Reilly and Folin by playing them then as we come to the TDL depending on how well Mete and Juulsen are doing in Laval as their top pair . then we'll flip them to contenders for 4th and 5th picks like with Morrow and Jerebek .

I could go along with your logic with Mac and Juulsen but mete is an nhl'r

what's the point of Ehlers if you're not re-uniting him with Drouin?
Drouin-Ehlers was a more Dynamic Duo then Mckinnon- Drouin ever was
Mckinnon and Drouin would center different lines depending on match ups
but Drouin-Ehlers never really split like Anderson and Messier they just made eachother better

it would be like CGY trading for Marner then playing him with Monahan and Gaudreau replacing Lindholm . . . it ignores Chemistry and history of success together

Mete last year after being sent down came up playing better then he ever has .
at the NHL level he's just playing catch up all game long no room to grow as a leader or player really .
he has 40 waiver exempt games left and MTL would be stupid not to use them to establish chemistry
between Mete-Juulsen playing big minutes preparing for the void that will be left in Petry's wake when he goes UFA or is moved

plus you get time to build value over 40 games on prospects we brought in to play stop/gap

Once again, i agree with you but its still a good trade with cost certainty for 6 years and dont have to worry about resigning Tatar. Basically we get ehlers and suzuki for paches. not bad plus the pick we got too

o yeah i am fine with the trade
i was just nit picking over line combinations

mccarron deal is the only thing i would overturn out right
i dunno if OTT accepts but if they did i'd do it same with WPG

Ottawa has no desire to take on this much salary unless you're including something they actually need, which you haven't.

Trading McCarron for a 7th is a total waste. As others have said he was actually good in the AHL last year before he got hurt.

Worst case scenario the guy is an enforcer in the NHL at some point. Still much more valuable than a 7th round pick.
