and matthews is not getting more points than crosby

i feel like rantanen has to be on there, but i don't know who to bump.

For Matthews it all will depend on games played. He plays 82, he'll probably win the rocket and be over 100 points.

Everyone's list is going to be a bit different but this is what I think...like I said in the description, there is probably 10 other guys you could easily add to this list!

Tip of the hat for putting Matthews on there. As @LoganOllivier has already pointed out it depends on games played. I think he will be healthy this season should make for 50 goals 90 points.

The list is pretty good looking. I would probably have Rantanen in and pasta lower but your guess is as good as mine.

as good as he is, pastrnak is a bandaid. at the all star break he'll be on pace for 50 goals. he'll finish with between 35-40. seems to always be the case, so i agree with you here.

Thank you! Rantanen would be my first replacement haha. I am in agreement with Matthews as well, if he's healthy there is no doubt in my mind he ends up in the top 10 at least.

I don't see Pastrnak outscoring Marchand.

If he had played all the games last year he would have had 88 points, good for 16th in the league (tie with Tavares). Not saying he can't get into the top-10, just that it isn't a given even if he remains healthy.

Pastrnak was on pace for 101 points last year, so I think it would be very close!

Curious as to why you're so adamant about this? Their scoring rates have been nearly identical over the past 3 years.

Draisaitl: 242, 104-148-252 (7th in the league)
MacKinnon: 238, 96-153-249 (8th in the league)

Neither guy has ever been a top-10 scorer. What makes you think they'll start now? Serious question.

Leading scorers change consistently year to year. I think these 2 are among the top players in the league, and have an excellent shot and being top 10 in points. Players like Barkov, Marchand etc. weren't scoring leaders there entire career. This is completely my opinion, but I believe (Rantanen and Matthews) have the ability to be there this season. There are so many guys who could top this list when it comes down to it...it's basically a guessing game haha.

taylor hall (if healthy) should prob be in this class as well along with huburdeau

A full healthy season with Nylander and he scores 60+ and 100+ points.

Could happen. I was just pointing out that it's never happened before - not even "on pace for" 100 points.

Edit: it likely won't happen if Babcock continues his current plan of playing Matthews 15 minutes a night.
