depends on which laine you get. do you get the full package or just the goal scorer. if its the former this isnt a bad deal, if its the latter then you are getting fleeced for thomas vanek 2.0

It's a decent package of young players, but they are, outside of AA, unproven. If the jets are gonna deal a 21 year old kid who is the 4th fastest to 100 goals then they are gonna want more back. Maybe move Cholowski out for Bowey and I think the jets ask for a ready made NHL player like Mantha

People are crapping on Laine for his bad season last year and his defensive ineptitude, but he's 21 and one of the most gifted goal scorers to ever play in the league. At 21 he can learn the defensive side of the game. Most guys are honing their skills in the AHL at 21 or finishing up junior/college, but Laine is scoring 100 plus goals. His value is so difficult to put a price on right now. If you say he cant evolve and will always be a specialist, then he has lower value, but if you say he can develop into a half decent 2 way player then his value is over the moon IMO
