Islanders blockbuster

Créé par: BeterChiarelli

Description
It's two trades in one via OldNYIFan and joshelkin:

Boychuk (50% retained) + MDC for Gagner and the 2021 3rd
JHS + Wilde + top-5 protected 1st Round Pick for Nugent-Hopkins

I included Puljujarvi out of the goodness of my own heart because the RNH trade seems really lopsided in Edmonton's favour.

I gotta go with a HELL NO on this one chief. As someone who can watch a lot of AHL games for the NYI, ho-sang is a bust that cannot play at the NHL level. His ego and his lack of defense will never get him there. Dal Colle imo doesn't get very far in the NHL either (3rd line at BEST), so one for one with puljujarvi is a stretch at best. Gagner for Boychuk also favors NYI cuz of his term and the fact that we don't need him. He's on his last legs, ontop of the fact that Bouchard, Bear, etc is gonna take his spot as soon as this year and as late as 2021-2022. I would gamble to say sooner rather than later. Basically, he's just gonna sit on the roster and be a waste of space for three years. So if this trade will work at all, NYI has to lose out hard on the rest of the trade. I dont see a world where you can make this trade fair from this point, and including nuge ontop of this already poor trade is downright insulting. Maybe Bear for Wahlstrom. But with they way the defense is now in the system, i don't see Holland bringing in another waste of cap to rot away for a few years

No way islanders do this - islanders wouldn’t trade Wilde alone to get rid of boychuk

Isles fan saying no.

RNH is great but not needed. Brock is our 2C and paying $6M for your 2C and 3C isn't a good idea.

I don't think we're the type of team that will take the risk on Puljujarvi unless he's willing to take a two-year deal for barely any dollars. He doesn't really have a spot on this team.

We don't need to throw in Wilde, MDC, and a 1st round pick just to get rid of Boychuk at 50% retained, that's really bad asset management.

I think the Isles and Oilers should just do Gagner for Hickey straight up.

I wouldn't do it either brother. That's just how unfair the deal as presented is.
