All joking aside, I think you're hitting on what's driving so many people nuts with this Marner narrative. Marner's camp is creating a narrative where, in part, they feel like he is being disrespected and treating unfairly with the offers coming from the leafs. When in all actuality nothing could be further from the truth given the overpay of offers that the leafs have tabled.

For the average Joe, who probably does feel undervalued in the work they do and treated unfairly, this whole narrative smacks of entitlement and the definition of being a prima donna when he has a career ahead of him that will very likely pay him over $100 M. Marner is playing with fire with the tactics he's been using to date. It could very well end up burning him.. even if he does get his millions. At a certain point in life he'll realize there is more to life than money and ego.
