If/when the window is closed, mind as well tank for better prospects. If/when you don’t make the playoffs, you want the highest draft picks.

Our prospects are fine. No huge blue chips but thats to be expected while we are still a contender for another 5 years.

Oh I know. This is also because the Sharks draft late due to always being in contention. Cannot have blue chips unless they draft up which would kill the current core.

The sharks do draft late, but thats ok when your one of the top 5 drafting teams in the league.

Well, the scouting team tends to find some rare gems in the later rounds. Also, the development and coaching is ranked up there.

The Sharks front office draft mediocre players in the higher end draft picks though. Just don’t know why.
