For all the crap fans give Melnyk and Dorian, and it’s mostly deserved, this team has the chance to very good for a lengthy spell.

If they play their cards right, they have a chance to build a team that can win a Cup. The upcoming draft will be huge for that.

The problem is they already had a core that could win a cup. If they had just waited for guys like Tkachuk, White, Chabot, Brown Batherson to integrate with the core they already had with Hoffman, Stone,Karlsson, Dzingel and Duchene, all they would have needed was a goalie. You add a league average goalie to that, and you can go to to toe with anyone in the league imo.

I agree. I really hope they can scoop Byfield. Biggest weakness right now is the lack of a true number 1 down the middle. They still need one of their goalies to reach out and take that starter gig, bit I'm confident that at least one of them will prove capable.

Beyond that, they have the centre depth, they have the wingers and they have the Defensive prospects.

I disagree, if they kept those guys they probably would of just kept trying to add pieces to compete and would've had to pay Karlsson and Stone massive amounts of money that would've made building a complete, true contending team virtually impossible.

I know it's been painful for Sens fans but I think this complete tear down is gonna be way better for them in the long run.

Now what's gonna be crucial is Melnyk or whoever is owner to be willing to pay these young players fair contracts when they're due, like if they try to nickel and dime Chabot they're ****ed and the gong show will continue.
