Not bitter. I actually came around on the return by the end of the season. Norris looks legit, and Balcers was a very pleasant surprise. Also I would name Dylan DeMelo Captain in a heartbeat.

Doesn't change the fact that the Senators have San Jose's unprotected 1st round pick this year, and the top of this draft is full of franchise altering talent. If the Sens could end up with two of those players it would change the face of this franchise immediately.

Yeah id be happy with anyone from Byfield, Lafreniere, Holtz, Raymond, Drysdale, Barron, Lundell, Lapierre, Perfetti, etc. The only thing I dont want is for them to go off the board. Say they have pick #2 and Laf is off the board, they go and select Lundell. That would piss me off

Dylan Peterson checks all the Senators boxes and it worries me. Big American/Canadian Centre with strong ties to the Ottawa region and is taking the College route. The EXACT type of player Ottawa would reach on. He's basically another Logan Brown. (Which I don't hate, just not with better options on the board).

If they leave as much talent on the table as they did in this past draft, it's going to haunt them for Decades.

If I was Ottawa, what I would've done is traded up 3-4 spots and taken one of Caufield, Krebs, Newhook and then took one of Brink or Kaliyev at 32. That would've been the logical thing to do

I agree. I don't hate not moving up, and just taking Thomson, but I REALLY didn't like the Pinto signing. That said, I've been wrong before, and Ottawa clearly has a LOT of faith in the UND Development staff, so I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Brink would have been a perfect fit as the RW on the Tkachuk-White-Brink line. Skilled Power Forward, Skilled Two-Way Center, Skilled shooter/playmaker.

Look. Obviously a whole hell of a lot has to go wrong for this team to miss, but that doesn't mean I'm not going to keep cheering against them to fail this season. Next season? I literally could not care less about the Sharks. But as a Sens fan, I've got to have something to root for this season lol.
