You could snag Namestnikov from the Rangers for a 2nd / 3rd round pick; which means you're now trading Pool Party & Gagner for Strome (probably not what you were expecting for a return...).

Last point, no way Bouchard should be playing top four minutes... Russell is still a better defencemen (as of today!). Bring Jones up to slot into the bottom pairing with Benning, and leave Bouchard to play Top-2 minutes in Bako; that'll allow him to play a lot of minutes, continue building on the momentum he had last year, and hopefully have him ready to slot into the Top-4 come trade deadline when we can ideally dump Russell.

I like Gagner but in my opinion he’s probably only worth half of what he’s getting paid. So the way I saw it was a second for Namestnikov. And Puljujarvi for Strome (who clearly wasn’t a fit with Mclelan). Strome did amazing in New York, and proved he could be one amazing two way player. Puljujarvi probably worth a bit more than Strome so they take on Gagner’s contract. But your right probably could change the pick.

For Bouchard. I’m just really hopeful. He says he wants to play with Edm this year. So I hope he does. Top 4 is probably to much for him though. Jones probably the better option. Just wanted to see what other thought of it.
