this is not true for normal buyouts-- just compliance buyouts. read buyout FAQ

True, but he has no spot on the team. We have Trouba DeAngelo and be Fox. We simply do not have a need for him. He won’t sign a league minimum salary anyways.

like i said, unlikely. i wouldn't mind keeping fox in AHL until the deadline so we don't have to give up that 2nd rounder. meh oh well

You cannot re-sign a bought-out player, see Brooks Orpik. The Caps traded him with Grubauer so the Av's would buy him out and then the Caps could sign him since he was an FA, not a player they just bought out.
