This trade makes absolutely no sense for the Maple Leafs. Why would the Leafs trade Mitch Marner who is a franchise player and possible generational player for 3 questionable players. The Leafs can simply promote players from the Marlies instead of taking these players. Marner is a game changer and has lead the team in points the last 2 years and would have lead the team in his first year if he did not miss some games because of health issues.
The Leafs have been waiting for over 25 years to obtain a unique player like Marner and you want to trade him away for nothing. You are actually starting to remind me of Marc Bergavin, the most incompetent GM in the NHL. In my opinion, Marner will be playing with the Leafs longer than both Matthews and Nylander, so he is not going to be traded. Both Dubbas and Babcock will be run out of Toronto if the Leafs trade Marner.

Marner is no where near franchise or generational. He’s not even the best rfa available

Totally disagree with your statement as Marner is the best RFA. Find it troubling that you make a statement but then do not provide the name of the best RFA in your humble opinion. Marner is a franchise player as he was in top 11 point producers and lead league in primary points at even strength. Which is more than McDavid. He also did it in 200 less minutes than McDavid. He is generational player and which most fans have not realized yet but they will. Do me a favour and google awards won by Mitch Marner in his last year of junior with the London Knights and then name me a current player in the NHL that won an equal amount of trophies while playing in major junior. Also, ask yourself why Taveres agreed to come to TO if he could play with Marner.

At least we've found Paul Marner's CapFriendly account.

I know you love your son and should be proud of him, but he's not a generational player and no one cares about junior awards.

Calm down, Paul. Marner isn't the best RFA (Rantanen is), and he's not a franchise/generational talent. Elite? Yes. But not franchise/generational. Also, are you sure you know who Matt Dumba is? A "questionable player", he is not. He's an elite, young RHD. Not as good/valuable as Marner, but Donato makes up for part of it. Replace Seeler with a couple of picks (2 2nds) and Dubas has something to think about.

I can't believe the dude called Dumba a questionable player..... sheesh ... look the other 2 are ok, do you know why ? Marner for Dumba would mean the leafs lose out a bit of a value, and so the other 2 offset the balance. But, Dumba is anything but questionable, the dude is a ****ing rock ... in the best way possible. He is what you need in defence if you want the D line locked down. He knows how to do his job and does it really well with lots of skill.

I made sure not to get Zucker just because I wanted the extra money to use to buy Gudas, so that we can have 5 rotating d men, so that if one if feeling tired or not playing great, babs would give him less time and increase the time for the other. Also, in case of injury, having one quality player to throw in your top 4 won't hurt the skill level.

I get it, but I was talking about the financial aspect from their end, but if they would be fine with it then so would I.

Stop embarrassing yourself you’re literally the only one in the world who thinks marner is generational lol. And I’d take point who’s a 40 goal 100 point centre over mitch any day
