Really not a fan of buying out Shattenkirk. He's still a serviceable D-man that was just coming off of some injuries. Also, if you buy him out, we'll have over 6m of dead cap next season.

Besides Shatty getting bought out (which is a death sentence for next season), the Namestnikov trade (which I'd be shocked if we got anything more than a pick), the craziest part is that you have Smith and Belesky as 22nd and 23rd men on the roster. There is no way Belesky isn't in Hartford and if Smith isn't in Hartford we have real problems as on a developing team, as there is no need for a defenseman who the coach on trusts on the PK or playing 4th line forward.
