The same garbage went around this site a year or two ago... Thomas + Dunn + multiple 1sts for Price because the Blues needed goaltending. Well look what happened. Goalies are voodoo. Some of the best numbers in the league last season were put up by players who were terrible two seasons ago. It's hard to predict and definitely not worth trading a whole bunch of the future of a team for a declining asset that takes up 13% of the cap. Just draft a goalie in the 4th round every year and hope one hits when he gets the chance. And if you really can't wait, pick one up in a smart/opportunistic trade like Grubauer/Andersen/Raanta, etc. Carey Price's full value is in MTL and not really anywhere else.[/]

I don't think NJD takes on that much salary and term at goalie position. MTL would need to retain enough to make it unpalatable for them.
