Mantha is not being traded as he is a building block going forward and not for what you are offering.

I know you will say the Wings are in rebuild but a 24yo 25+ goal scorer who is on a great deal and is still an RFA is what you build around. The rebuild has started and and trading for prospects and and picks only sets the rebuild back.

I have read articles about how Flames need to move on from Gilles. Wings have to one goalie they are high on, Larssen and Rybar might be a nice backup, jury is still out.

The 1st round pick will be in the twenties and that player will not help the Wings for at least 3 to 4 years.

I just can not see Wings making this deal.

If you add instead of NJD adding I think they would take it. Hall was a former MVP and still performing at a high standard. For Gaudreau he kind of fell off back end of the season.

Theres an argument to be made that Gaudreau would do a lot better in the East where the only heavy teams are Boston and Washington

That is a bad trade for Calgary.

I'm not convinced Hall is better and if he is it isn't that significant. Meanwhile Gaudreau is young and locked into a good contract for the next three years.
