I think with the amount of young Dmen in the system we will find something that works. I know dubas doesn’t want to rush prospects, and rightfully so, but there has to be one that can jump in.

Rielly/Dermott on second pair Borgman or marincin/??? On third pair and give those top two pairs big time minutes. Thinks the leafs would be okay in that respect.

The trades aren’t a horrible idea... but I don’t think honka is waivers exempt.

Considering the contract stalemate; I was looking at Ferris's clients past contracts. All of his major recent contracts for RFA's have been 2-3 years (after lengthy stand-offs).
I think Marner is getting a 2-3 year bridge and that we should be using that 2-3 year projected contract for him going forwards.

I like it ? but I don't think Honka, costs a 3rd. Maybe Holl, and a 5th, something like that? What do you think of Petan, Holl and a 2nd for Janmark (retained) and Honka?

Your right, about the amount of young D. But one has too take precaution with the expansion draft coming up (referring too Liligren and Sandin even Bracco). I believe the reason most put Muzzin and Berrie as the top paring and Reilly and Ceci second, is because though Reilly > than Muzzin, Berrie >>>>>>>> Ceci. However I'm with you I still think Babs puts Reilly and Ceci as top paring and Muzzin and Berrie as second (although based on ice time won't really matter much).

I thought Anderson got 2 no? The takeaway i would take from this, is that his bigger clients got longer term.

What bothers me ( beside as we already talked i think we have enough Dermott kind of Ds now ) is, we are constantlly putting him on RHD. Ppl who are telling natural side doesnt matter proly never played hockey, cause it DOES. Maybe for some Hedman or Karlsson not at all while being elite, but Dermott isnt one, he will be decent middle Pair D and him playing right side i dare to claim hes losing 15% of his skill set by it. Its additional turn or move thats required to re-position, thats one second in hockey that means hour in normal world if i banalize a bit.

Honka isnt WE true, but he can replace Holl sitting in a press box for this Season tho, i would like to see kid bounce back from what he was supposed to be when drafted, same for Bear who actually is WE, maybe those two kids can start new page ( at least Honka, Bear wont make it out of depth in EDM ) and pan out as decent middle Pair D.

btw, would following make sense ? :

The idea came from BurgerBoss ( who is DAL fan ) so 2nd for Janmark + Honka which i was quite hyped with it and used it in some simulations. But now its to late for that, Kerfoot is in and Janmark will be another 3 x 3M player next year ( otherwise turning into a rental ) which isnt affordable.

So here’s the funny thing, I am a goaltender who faced a fairly gruesome injury. Since I can’t play net anymore, my second choice is defence and I am much stronger, as left hand player, on the right side. That is where I always play. Both defensively and offensively that is where I am strongest. Yes it is a bit of an oddity but there are a fair bit of defenders in that category l. Dermott from what I have seen can Play both sides more efficient than even hainsey.

Maybe a nearly backhanded compliment..... Dermott is good on the right side. Hainsey was certainly the best left handed defensemen to play weekend at Bernie’s on their of side.

My point of course is if hainsey can play with Rielly than certainly Dermott can.
