With 9 mil in cap space and a bucket load of first round picks you can bet that a trade or two would happen to fill the hole left by Marner.

Agreed. But with that much cap space and all that currency in draft picks moves would be made, and that could very well make the leafs a better team than keeping Marner.

Also, I'm looking forward to what this Ilya guy might bring to the table. Sounds like they plan to play him with AM and Nylander.

I dont think it would be wise to use that cap space right away again. I'd rather save that for Barrie's extension.

I would try to at least sign Dzingel to fill Marner's offensive hole..... no pun intended

Didn't get past the first round with him either..... but everyone sees him and wants to pay him franchise player money........so I am game to try something different.
