Not sure what Forsbeg’s value is, but he is apparently available and I’d say that the Canes would have the needed assets to acquire him if they wanted to, no matter what the asking price is.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>Yes. Because you need guys like that. They become part of a core of players to take a team into the future. You assume that Hagel has hit his ceiling. But he could absolutely get better and could absolutely be worth more at some point. But if you want to buy something that someone doesn't want to sell then you have to over pay to get it. And even if he doesn't get better, he is worth more to the team going forward than what you are offering. That is what you don't get. The hawks have no reason to sell Hagel. Period. The end. Now go away.</div></div>
Wrong, we are very much at the ceiling of his production and his analytics show that. 18% shooting percentage is not sustainable for instance. Again, if he gets better that doesn’t necessarily make him worth more. He’s going to be older, have less term etc. His value is at a all time high and nothing will change that.
You can really tell that you dont know what you’re talking about when you say that players like Hagel are core players:tearsofjoy :tearsofjoy A team with Hagel is not going add pieces around him, teams add players like Hagel around core players. You’re just being flat out delusional when you’re pretty much sayin that a 23yo old 50point pace middle6 winger is like the next big thing for the Hawks organization.
We’ll see what the return for him is if he gets traded, which imo is going to happen whether its the Leafs or some other team that gets him. I’ll hit you up when he gets dealt at a reasonable price, but for now I cant be bothered to argue as it’s not going anywhere. Bye

He really wasn’t. Foote was putting up average numbers in the chl at the time of the trade. You Hawks fans can want whatever you want but ultimately your teams management is going to take a fair return for him which 1st and a 2nd is at the least.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>You just said it... Sell high on him. If the price isn't high enough then go away. The way he has progressed he could be worth a lot more than what you're offering in a few years. He is the type of player CHI should be building around not trading away unless it blows the doors off the United Center.</div></div>
You dont seem to realise what selling high on a player really means, do you? It’s not about teams overpaying what his value is atm, its about selling an asset like Hagel at the peak of his value. Again, his value is not going to be as high this time next year. He’s going to be 1year older, have 1year less term, might have even dropped in production which would plummet his value. Missing out on a chance to get a 1st+ other assets for a guy they can easily replace with up-comers like Reichel is not good asset management.
You really out here sayin that the Hawks should build around a 23yo 50point pace winger? Get outta here:tearsofjoy :tearsofjoy

Hawks get more for hagel than NJ got for blake coleman a few years ago as hagel is younger than coleman was and signed a year longer and an RFA at the end of the deal not UFA</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Garak</b></div><div>A 23 year old on a 50 point pace that plays a high energy and highly sought after style of play on an extremely cap friendly contract that extends for two more seasons beyond the current one. To top all of that off, the hawks will listen to offers but have absolutely NO REASON to move him. So anyone who wants him bad enough will have to overpay. An overpay that has a very good chance of turning out to be an underpay in the bigger picture.</div></div>
When you say there’s no reason to move Hagel you’re wrong. It’s about asset management and selling high on him. This time next year Hagel’s value is not going to be as high as it is now, so the best thing to do right now is to take the best offer no matter if it’s from Leafs or some other team. I cant see the Hawks turning things around for next year so what’s the point of keeping Hagel when you can get a 1st+ other assets for your retool/rebuild?
And if you really want the Coleman return then just go ahead and pick a Nolan Foote type of prospect from the Leafs prospect pool…
Hint: It’s not Robertson, Amirov or Niemelä

What exactly makes Hagel worth so much? This is getting ridiculous if you ask me, 1st and a 2nd is more than fair for a middle6 forward. Great contract doesn’t make him a superstar you know…

But I don’t see the 22 in play. Maybe If it’s 1-1</div></div>

Let’s just take the 22 1st out and make it a 23 1st. Would that work as is or does it need some conditions on the pick? Assuming the Devils are tryna make the postseason next year

Copp is a top6 forward or atleast he’s been that in Winnipeg for 2 seasons now. Thought he’d fit on the 2nd line LW, same role he’s played most of the time this and last season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeyman1208</b></div><div>I’d agree, hopefully Fiala will take somewhat of a discount considering he actually has some line mates now and I’d assume he wants to stay with a cup contending team. As for Kahkonen that was my thought exactly and the reason I locked him up long term in this situation, if we can lock him up long term, the future goalie duo would be Wallstedt/Kahkonen for the next 10 to 12 years if all goes as planned. I think Guerin will get a similar package to this for Dumba, I chose Winnipeg because they have a really good roster with blue chip prospects on the brink of breaking the starting lineup so if they could shore up the defensive core on the right side with Dumba, I think they’d be okay giving up a 1st round pick and a B-level prospect.</div></div>
I get that they’d like to get that type of deal for Kähkönen but there is no reason for him and his agent to take that deal when they know that in a year or two he might be a 5mil+ goalie.

Looks good, not sure if the Jets would do it but there would be a taker for Dumba for sure.
I think Fiala could be signed long term for less than 7mil, I’d take a couple 100k’s of it.
Kähkönen won’t sign long term yet. He has potential to be a starter so I think signing a 5year 2,5mil isn’t in his best interest. 1year around 1,5-2,5 would be more like it and if he takes the starter role he’ll get a Cal Petersen type of deal in the next off-season while still being an rfa

I actually think ideally it should be a 2nd line LWer, not a RWer like Giroux. That way you can move Teuvo back to his preferred spot on the right wing of Aho, with Svechnikov. Something like;
Svechnikov - Aho - Teravainen
??? - Trocheck - Necas
Niederreiter - Staal - Fast
Lorentz - Kotkaniemi - Jarvis
(Jarvis on the 4th because KK can score and he's gone dry too)</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>vikhodush</b></div><div>Agree on Jarvis - I just hesitate to take the optimistic route on him being an impact player in the playoffs this year. Agree generally on Necas, he's def a top 6 guy - I just expected more consistent play out of him so far this season outside of purely putting points up even. I do think he'll bounce back and that he'll perform well though.
Giroux is a natural righty but prefers LW to RW supposedly (read an article in Athletic earlier that alluded to this). Also a great option to have another C slide in situationally or in case of injury and can really play him anywhere on top 3 lines and on special teams depending on what the team needs night to night.
I agree on moving Svech back up to play w/ Aho and Turbo though, and I think that's probably RBA's long term plan but he's seeing what else we have. Just need to find a dynamic threat to fit in on that Troch/Necas line.</div></div>
Isn’t Giroux kinda out of reach as he listed his 3 teams to be COL, MIN and STL? J.T Miller would fit there nicely tho
