that's totally fair to have strong feelings about Kaprizov. would you rather give up a package involving Zucker and a 1st or Boldy and a 1st?

To get Kreider? I’d rather the team not get him, they already have a surplus of LW. I’d definitely not want to give up a 1st or Boldy either, the Wild don’t have much for prospects and need their picks. I don’t think Zucker+ is fair value for Kreider.

Thanks for your opinion. Based on your previous teams, it seems as you value Zucker as being worth either
1) Justin Faulk
2) 1 1st round pick
3) Bryan Rust, Justin Shultz and a 3rd round pick

Would you feel more comfortable saying
A) You pretty severely undervalued Zucker
or
B) You value Kreider this way?

It's complicated to explain, but basically, previous trades I've traded Zucker for what made sense at the time. Faulk was to replace Spurgeon if he was traded, a 1st round pick was just to clear cap and roster space, and Rust, Shultz and a 3rd was to bring in a RW, defenseman to replace someone traded (Spurgeon? Brodin? I forget) and another prospect. The problem with Kreider is he doesn't bring in what the Wild need, which is either a potential franchise center or a right shot forward. I just don't think the teams are a match for this trade.

that's totally fair. my own issue was the nuance in the phrasing "value of Kreider" vs. "value of Kreider to the Wild". I don't disagree with your stance though. Fenton has put you guys in a tough position where you kinda have to double-down to try and compete or start dealing off most of your pieces for a rebuild
