The one in which Aho just got 8.5. You kind of just shot yourself in the face. He's a centre who should make more than a winger, is his teams best player and got signed for less than 9. Ferris was constantly leaking info until he spoke to other teams and now all is silent. Why? My guess, the offers from other teams are not nearly what he had hoped for and now he handed Dubas some negotiating power.

You say Aho getting 8.5 means Marner will definitely get way more than 10. That doesn't compute, Aho is very close to as valuable as Marner and got 8.5. That shows Marner is asking too much.

ok, i may have attempted this in the wrong manner. I forgot that debating/arguing with Leaf fans is quite similar to arguments with my 3 year old over what an acceptable dinner is...
why in the world would Marner sign a 3 year deal? it doesn't even get him to FA status. no matter the dollar amount, the guy is not taking a deal for less than 5 years on the term.

my statement "term has nothing to do with it" was not in reference to the amount of money the player will get at a set term but rather it importance of getting to FA status.
