That doesn't make is not awful, Canes don't really need forwards now and last thing they need to do is destroy their defense, they will likely be looking at goaltending and picks/prospects only now

Canes are a budget conscious team so they aren’t going to move pesce. But really nylander for pesce is a good trade for the canes value wise and Faulk for zaitsev is just blah. Probably needs another small piece coming back from the leafs but it’s all for nothing if they won’t move pesce.
