First off no way Ryan Callahan is waiving for crap hole Ottawa, And secondly you're not getting a 1st+2nd in return for Callahan either. You might get the 2nd but the 1st isn't happening period.

1st callahan is bought out maybe you should open your eyes and look, and 2nd tampa needs cap space and they moving down from the 27th to 44th, cap space is more important right now for tampa than picks.....

Leafs will pass. They could just retain 1.5-2 million and send him back to SJ for a late pick. That's still 4+ million in savings and no losing Kapanen. Knights say no, Haula and Miller aren't cap dumps. If they were getting traded, Vegas could get a real return for them.

seems intelligence and reading comprehension is not a strong suit for you, callahan is bought out, vegas is right now negative in cap and have little options and teams know this and that is what teams are asking for to take on Marleaus contract.

not important enough to give that up. They could trade Johnson or Miller instead and keep the picks. They'd also get a better return.

sharks have their own cap problems and cant afford marleau even with 50% retained from the leafs.

Who cares? Bottom line is Tampa isn't surrendering a 1st+2nd just so Ottawa can buy out Callahan. Tampa isn't going to waste picks when they can buyout Callahan themselves.

1. That Vegas trade is laughable. They can get way more picks by trading those guys individually than just moving back in the draft.
2. After that laugh fest you're gonna bury Reavo just to have a fourth line that makes over 14.5 mil a season?

Yeah the deals are all bad and Marleau would never waive his NTC to go to Ottawa. I puked in my most reading those trades

both have a NTC or modified NTC and yes trade away 20+ goals and 45+ point players to keep draft picks.. make sense for a team that is a cup contender when they can just trade picks to get rid of a bad contracts and keep their productive players....

20 goals/45 points are replaceable. The Lightning, with Kucherov and Stammer and Point, can make a 20 goal forward out of pretty much anybody.

Vegas has plenty of options. They have 4 guys that are secondary pieces on the last year of their contract making 11m. Dump 3 of them for picks problem solved. Clarkson goes on LTIR. They are talking about trading Max. They have options. Don’t need to do something dumb. Even if Callahan does not decline. They keep their picks and buy him out themselves. Leafs don’t even consider that.

This on soooo many levels. We aren’t just going to get literally NOTHING for very good players. Haula and Miller aren’t cap dumps.
