This Florida trade is the worst "serious" trade I've seen here so far. You could argue Huberdeau is a ppg player now, he's in his prime and one of the better bargains outside of MacKinnon.

You're either overvaluing KK or undervaluing Huberdeau, but that's the reality of the value right now.
Hub currently is a 1st liner on any NHL team he would play on, also has a great cap hit at 5.9 for 4 more years, and he's still in his mid 20's so he's still far from a huge decline in play.
Considering all those factors, that's the price to pay for that kind of player. It's going to take an uncomfortable package to pry Hub out of FLA.

Ok ... So the question is. If FLA does end up signing Bobrovsky + Panarin, then what do they give up in order to make space for them? (Something has got to give with those significant contracts coming through the door)

The thing is, if they do need to make moves to make cap space, the player's value won't automatically drop because they need space. Just saying the Panthers will get alot more for Hub than what you offered, that's all. And don't forget, they have the entire summer to meet the cap if they're above. They don't need to panic and execute a bad move
