Nope. Not a good idea. I really think the Sens will be worse next year.

Cozens or Byram would be nice, but 2020 is too deep to give up what will likely be a top 5 pick. Giving up a chance at a guy like Lafreniere or Byfield is a bad idea.

Also sens fans would not survive another year off worrying about giving up the 1st Overall pick.

If I had ANY confidence that the sens won't be substantially worse next year, I might consider it. But as it stands, we were a last place team WITH Stone, Duchene and Dzingel this year, and now we won't have them for the full season. Even if we miss out on the lottery again, we should still be no later than 5th in a much deeper draft. They're talking about 2020 like it's the next 2003.
