Don’t see Howden being moved. NYR are high on him. Also doubt Trouba signs long-term. Sounds like he’s All in for Detroit.

There's not any evidence that he's all in for Detroit... Despite what the delusional Wings fans like to spread around.... In fact he and his camp haven't said much of anything at all.

You would think he’d be interested long term with a rebuilder over a great team up in WPG?

Assuming Trouba doesn't ask for a ridiculous amount for his extension, Rangers accept.

I do, yeah. He wants an opportunity to be a #1 guy, and he wants to be in an American Market.

I also don't think the Rangers rebuild is going to be a super painful one. They have a lot of really nice pieces already in place. I think it's a really good fit for him.

Jets decline. I’m not too big in howden or pionk. Change either howden to a better prospect like chytlil or kravstov or change pionk to deangelo. Also, definitely not sending Virtanen as well

Personally, if he’s interested, I’ll do the deal. The extension needs to happen with the trade tho.

For sure. I imagine that Winnipeg has been allowing teams to negotiate with Trouba already... Which could be why there are so many teams rumoured as interested.

Exactly how many scoring wingers and offensive minded defensemen do you think the Jets need?

Columbus declines. We have no need or want for Little, Savard is more important to the future of Columbus then Little or Green, who’s a decent prospect(I have no idea what position he plays), and a second to retain on him. Lol, no this isn’t a trade Columbus would consider. Maybe if it were younger players then maybe but as it stands, there’s no interest.

I'm not a huge fan of swapping Ehlers for RNH, Ehlers is younger and sighned longer, given your high praise about Wilson I see no reason why he can't center the 2nd line with Ehlers and Laine on the wing.

The thought is that Wilson drops down the lineup when they need of the young wingers proves themself ready for the top 6... Good teams are deep at center. RNH is an upgrade that, frankly is necessary.

If that's the offer Winnipeg will accept for Trouba, I would take that deal in a second for the Rangers. Maybe even add in a LD prospect like Lindgren if needed

Yeah... They need to trade Wheeler and Scheifele to fix this team..... And dump Hellebuyck for a pick.

Probably should acquire more borderline NHL scoring wingers, and they would be a contender.

Yes cause keeping a captain that no one on the team save for one guy likes is really the way to a championship... Lol

This is based on your interpretation of some outlandish rumors.

Because moving off your two best players is the way to a championship.

Then source it?? What insight do you have that the issues were absolutely 100% Scheifele and Wheeler... And that the best course of action is to rid the team of the two best players this franchise has ever had?

Winnipeg is a small city, people who are close to the team talk. My source is a good one I've known most of my life, it's not BS.

There's another rumor about Scheifele that is going around, some commenters on here have mentioned it. I don't know if there's truth to it so I have no comment on it but if it's true I really don't know how they go forward with the guy.

I find in Winnipeg most of the fanbase just buys the narrative that the Jets and their lapdogs at TSN (and some others in the local media) feed them and there's rarely much context given and few in the medai have alternative viewpoints. The Wheeler is this glorious leader narrative for example. Same with Maurice, few in the media challenge anything he says or does, and Wheeler telling one of the media people to eff off after a no show in their last game of the season, that's a real classy leader/role model for the young players and rest of the team eh? lol
Scheiffele sits like a ghost on locker clean out day with the media and barely says a word, what the hell was that?
And Buff wasn't even there, I know Buff doesn't like talking to the media but come on, that's not leadership.

Again though, it's all speculative. Because Wheeler lost his cool after his season over... And Scheifele didn't have much to say at locker clean out day? Seems like a huge stretch... I'm from Winnipeg, I know it's a small town... 2 things happen in a small town; 1) You can't hide the truth, absolutely... You're right. 2) Rumors get spread like wildfire whether they're true or not.

And I've said it before, team atmospheres can be fixed. Since moving from Winnipeg, I live in the Toronto area, and Morgan Reilly and Naz Kadri have both admitted to hating the team atmosphere and wanting out in the early Babcock years... And Matthews as recently as last summer wanting more ice time. The team has fixed the morale issues internally, by being professionals about the situation... And not bailing on their best players.

A big part of it will be taking the summer to step away and come back fresh next year. It's not a dire situation. The team had a tough year, they can definitely bounce back.
