Leafs would have to add a prospect or a 1st or 2nd round pick, Jets cap situations isn’t much better then Toronto’s and adding Zaitsevs cap without retention would need some type of sweetener. I do think the Leafs should target Trouba, and the rumors about him not wanting to play in Canada I think is more about not playing in a small market more then anything not necessarily has to do with Canada.

Trouba for Kadri and Zaitzev has Toronto adding a pick to that trade. If Marner signs for $9.5 it's only for 5 years, still think below $10 is doubtful at this point. Trouba st $7.5 is probably his market value but he seems like a player that unless he gets sent where he wants he will make the team pay him more to keep him there.
