Just a small point, free agency doesn't happen until after the draft so the first 1st round selection for losing Marner won't be until 2020.

Flyers aren't trading Ratcliff for Kadri straight up. Nevermind the 1st round pick... Kadri doesn't even play most of the games in the Leafs usual 7 game postseason

About moves...

Marner offersheet - extremely unlikely, but nothing is impossible.

ARI trade - they've claimed they'd like to get a "premium asset" if they take Marleau. My guess is they'd want Bracco. Would you do Marleau+Bracco in exchange to 2019 3rd round pick?

CGY trade - I feel like TOR needs to add a little. Kadri is better than Jankowski, but the value difference isn't exactly first round pick. Kadri got 16 goals, 44 points, Jankowski got 14 goals and 32 points. Maybe TOR adds a 3rd?

CAR trade - Don't see Pesce being available. Value-wise it works, but CAR was a TOP4 team this year. Future assets are not something they need.

EDM trade - They are not in the position to move their pretty much only solid RHD for relatively low picks, bottom-6 winger and yet another LHD. Again, value-wise it's not that far off, but position and benefit wise that trade would make them even weaker than they are now.

ANA trade - Well, I once suggested a trade where TOR got Manson and ANA got Zaitsev+Johnsson+Liljegren+2nd and ANA fans didn't like it. That offer isn't close in value, so my guess is that they would decline. To be fair I would too. Manson is virtually their only RHD in the entire organisation, all other RHDs are clearly AHL level. They don't even have good prospects to replace Manson with.

About signings...

These comparables (Bjorkstrand and Faksa) have one clear issue - they play in different roles. Faksa is a 3C, Bjorkstrand is 3RW. Johnsson and Kappy played 2nd line wingers, and their statistics are better.

Not to mention that Johnsson already played under a prove yourself deal this year.

Teräväinen is a great comparable for Kapanen. They had almost similar roles and statistics. Add cap percentage to that and the real deal for Kapanen is something about $3,125M x 2.

Johnsson will probably cost more, since he isn't out on his ELC and he has no reason to agree for a discount anymore. $3,333M x 2 should work.

Also power forwards are fan favorites and coaches love them. Just saying that if Komarov gets a 3x4 deal from NYI, higher level players like Dzingel and Ferland are getting closer to $5M deals.

EDM - its conditional, assuming they are trying to get rid of Chiarelli scent, cause the whole trade really didnt pan out very well, Larsson never lived up to 4OA, this one can be skipped, cause with Sandin and Liljegren coming to 3rd Pair next year, Larsson would actually be one man to many, or Liljegren would be in the press box

ANA - i know about their issues ( same as TML, lack of RHDs after Montour gone ), lets fetch another 1st in and go for Spurgeon in MIN

For Johnsson ( arbitration ) Danault comes to mind, but even 2 x 3,3M will do

For Kapanen...ok Teräväinen it is then, 2 x 3,2M, some money still left in the pot.

I dont see the need to get all three RD. You might have said something about it but I havent read it all. they would be more then fine if they just got one of those guys
